DECORATIONS
Create a truly vibrant atmosphere by decoration with primary colors. Use red, yellow, blue, and purple streamers and balloons and place Baby Einstein puppets, stuffed animals, building blocks and learning toys everywhere so that they can be both seen and used! Meanwhile, keep it safe for the little ones and be alert to chocking hazards. Balloons should be placed out of kiddy grasps! Cover your table and set with Baby Einstein plates, napkins and cups. Use a stuffed monkey, elephant or giraffe for a centerpiece and attach a bouquet of balloons to the stuffed animal. As the children first arrive at the party, decorate each of them with a Baby Einstein Cone Hat.
GAMES and ACTIVITIES
BABY SHAKESPEARE
Gather the children around for a cozy story time or, if you’re feeling creative, coordinate a puppet show for the kids. Use bought or homemade sock puppets or your child’s toys, and try to get at least one other person to help out. Hang a portable coat rack with a red blanket or curtain as a partitian and stage the puppet play just above it. Sure to capture the awe and giggles of the children! Narrate and act out one of your child’s favorite educational storybooks. Remember to read with lots of expression to keep them enchanted!
ANIMALS AND THE SOUNDS THEY MAKE
Gather up an eclectic mix of stuffed animals, plastic animal toys or animal puppets into a toy basket. With each animal, hold up the toy and ask the children, “What’s this?” and “What kind of noise does this animal make?” Go through all the animals at least once. This terribly cute learning game will soon the children will be meowing and bowing and hissing and mooing in unison. Let the children play with the soft animal toys afterwards!
BABY VAN GOGH
Round up your budding artists for some finger and hand painting and coloring with washable paints and crayons. Provide paper, animal shaped sponges and smocks (large tee-shirts or old towels) for the little ones so they are free to be as creative and expressive as they want! Meanwhile, get a “grown up” to supervise and encourage them along. Get them to sign their picture with their name and a handprint (they may need some help) and note the date and occasion at the bottom so they’ll have a homemade keepsake to bring home!
BABY EINSTEIN FOOD
Whatever you choose to prepare for the birthday meal, just make sure it’s easy, fun and nutritious, and serve it on the Baby Einstein Tablecover with Einstein 1st Plates and Baby Einstein Cups.
For the birthday cake, why not make a Baby Einstein Caterpillar Cake. Start by baking a dozen or so large muffins. After they cool, cut the small ends off so that you’re left with 3/4 of the muffin. Glaze the tops of the muffins with green tinted white icing and glue the pieces together in a long, winding caterpillar shape. Use a decorating tube and gumdrops for the face and a marshmallow cut in half for the eyes with black gumdrops for pupils and shoestring licorice for antennae and legs!
BABY EINSTEIN LOOT
Hand out some fun educational toys to the little Einsteins in attendance. Blocks, Lego’s, children’s reading books and coloring books and washable markers are all great ideas for Baby Einstein birthday party loot!
