DECORATIONS
Welcome your NASCAR guests with a Racecar Personalized Birthday Banner on the front door! Decorate the party rooms with balloons and streamers in the colors of NASCAR: red, white and black. Fill the party rooms with Race Car Cutouts and dinkies. Put NASCAR Banners or black and white checkered flags inside the house and all along the perimeter of the yard. Add some free standing checkered to the entrances of various rooms and to the end of the driveway.
GAMES AND ACTIVITIES
PAINT YOUR RACECAR
This is a fun game for all little NASCAR lovers alike. Simply pick up some cheap cardboard or wooden car shapes at the craft store. Supply the children with plenty of washable markers. Set up a “race car station” where the children can sit and personalize their car, and vrrooom, get those creative juices flowing!
DRIVERS LICENCE
This NASCAR activity is also piles of fun and supplies the NASCAR fan with his or her very own keepsake! Set up a Driver’s Motor Vehicle Registration room with measuring tape and some scales to get the child’s height and weight. On a white piece of bristol board write: “NASCAR Birthday’s are fun” in big to increasingly small lettering. Stick it on the wall in the “D.M.V. Room” and have the child stand a few feet away to read it (naturally, say all the kids are 20/20). Before the party, prepare cards with the child’s name, address and phone number, and a space to fill in the child’s height, weight, eyesight, hair and eye color, as well as a small frame for a picture. At the top, write in bold “NASCAR DRIVER’S LICENCE.” Get some plastic business nametag holders from an office supply store and use a digital camera to take and print off each child’s picture in the appropriate size. The kids will beam when they see their very first official looking driver’s license…and a NASCAR license at that!
TIRE WHEELING RELAY
This fun game is sure to get all the engines roaring. All you need is a couple spare tires and some masking tape. Separate the children randomly into two relay teams and assign them a tire each. Use masking tape to indicate a start and finish line. When the kids are ready, shout, “Fire your engines…ready…set…GO!” And lower a red towel or kerchief for dramatic effect. The first player on each team then has to roll the tire from the start line to the finish and back again to the next team player. Cheer every one on, and give each member of the winning team a chocolate racecar candy!
FILL ‘EM UP
Fill up those NASCAR bellies with yummy race cars for dinner! That’s right, simply stick two toothpicks through the ends of a chicken strip or fish stick and fasten raw carrot coins to the pointy ends to look like wheels. Add some “Fast Fries” or french fries and serve on a Black Check Plate. Before hand, go to the dollar store and get a cheap plastic hose. Cut off and rinse a foot long section and when it’s time for drinks, stuff the hose in the neck of a two litre bottle of cola or rootbeer. Get them to park each of their NASCAR Cups and fill ‘er up! For the birthday cake, simply frost white and add dark brown chocolate squares to look like a NASCAR flag.
NASCAR LOOT
For some great NASCAR loot, pack up some Nascar Stickers, Car Shooters, chocolate cars, Flip Over Cars and a bag of mini donuts labeled “Tires.” NASCAR Racing Favor Pack is another good idea for your kid guests.
